My days are usually pretty busy, which is why I cherish the days off and sleep like no other.

• Had insomnia so I barely slept, maybe about 2-3 hours at most.
• As I was about to head out the door, I noticed that the doggo wasn’t his usual self. Normally, he would be barking at her because he’s gotta go potty outside but today, there wasn’t a single peep from him. He was situated on my mom’s bed, watching her as she was in writhing pain. She told me that she was going to drive herself to urgent care because she has a UTI (urinary tract infection). I was going to help her but she is stubborn and insisted that she didn’t need my assistance. She doesn’t like me involved with her medical care whatsoever. While I was at work, I called her to check up on her but she didn’t answer my call. I have it where she shares her location with me and saw that she made it to the urgent care already.
• During my commute to work, I was stopped at a red light when I spotted a mama duck and her four ducklings trying to cross the road. At first, I was thinking about how cute this was… the little ducklings waddling behind their mama. But then the light turned green. My lane and the lane next to me stopped to let them cross, but the farthest lane was open and three cars came barreling through at full speed. I helplessly watched as the cars drove straight through the family. I watched them all die within seconds. I was so devastated seeing it happen that it kept replaying in my head throughout the day.
• I had a steady stream of patients to assess and discharge.
• One of my assistants brought me a container of cơm cháy. I’ve never had it before, it’s like crispy rice with pork floss, fish sauce, chili garlic sauce, and spring onions. It was delicious. I ate half of the container and saved the other half for tomorrow.
• In one of my lotto groups, we won $41, which we rolled over to pay for more lotto tickets. One day, we’re going to win big… is what I keep telling myself.
• Sat through a two hour meeting that could have been an e-mail or even a text.
• Followed by another ad-hoc 30 minute call with management.
• A friend of mine texted me today and invited me to her boujie F-1 themed birthday party for her husband next month.
• Finished working 14 hours for the day.
• Lastly, I read comments, people’s blogs, and e-mails before going to sleep.
