Describe your favorite t-shirt.

I got this t-shirt from a flea market for $5. Even though my favorite Sanrio character is Kuromi, I have to admit that Hello Kitty is still iconic.

I bought falsies online that are magnetic last year during Black Friday and am finally trying them on. I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube makeup tutorials; I’m trying to change my makeup style to boost my self-esteem… so maybe I’ll feel better. I fucked up on my eyeliner wing on the other eye, which is why it is covered. I also need to do a better job at blending my blush but I’m still learning with the new makeup and brushes I purchased. Le sigh.

If anyone has any makeup tutorial videos they watch or tips, feel free to drop them in the comments.

The other night, I met up with Owen. I met him through Brenda. Owen is celibate and queer, BTW.

Owen contracted COVID during the first wave, needless to say, he was scared shitless and was quite ill for months. It frightened us all, we were terrified. He got pretty depressed during the lockdown, to the point where he wasn’t keeping up with his basic hygiene. I don’t think he even showered, brushed his teeth, or combed his hair for weeks. It was pretty bad.

He tried online therapy but he wasn’t able to build a rapport or feel a connection with the therapist… and since everyone was supposed to social distance at that time, vis-à-vis appointments were not being done. During that time, he was also working as a contractor doing programming, which only isolated him further since he was working WFH (working from home).

I tried my best to check in with him, but I was getting bombarded at work myself—it was asses and elbows. I was so traumatized and since everything was so chaotic, I mentally blocked most of 2020 to late 2022. It wasn’t until the tail end of the pandemic that I was able to breathe again and we actually became better friends.

When I recently saw him, he gave me all these items. He fancies himself as a Hello Kitty aficionado. I mean I like Hello Kitty but he takes it to another level. Many of the items still have tags on them and it cost hundreds of dollars. And since he knows that I have a thing for Tokidoki, he made sure to include those items too.

I don’t have my ears pierced so I gave the Hello Kitty earrings to Maggie. Because these items have been sitting in Owen’s storage for so long, the batteries in the watches died. I will need to get them replaced and then decide which I will keep afterward. Which one should I keep? The gold watch or the silver watch?

Success and failure can both be temporary. What truly matters is the person you remain through both. Don’t be a victim of your negative thoughts. Renew your mind; things can get better.

We can’t keep learning if we think we already know everything. Let go of the associations that don’t support the new version of you. Let nothing block you.

Trust God to take ownership of your journey. Don’t bow to societal pressure if it doesn’t align with your vision. Don’t feel guilty of disappointing others. You’re meant to fulfill your purpose, not chase the road others force you to follow. You owe that to yourself. You are not helpless; you have the capacity to change things. Be an energy converter. Whatever comes your way, convert it into what you want it to become. Everything is how you respond to it, not how it actually has to be.
