Currently listening to: Don’t Think I’m Not – Kandi
When you’re out in the club, don’t think I’m not
Even when you’re out making love, don’t think I’m not
When you’re feeling good in somebody’s spot, getting hot, don’t stop
Just don’t think I’m not ’cause I’m out getting mine
I love school. There’s so much to learn, the world is vast and constantly evolving. My friends think that I’m a masochist but I find that nourishing my brain to be very fulfilling in a sick and twisted way.
If I could, I’d be a professional student. I mean… I guess I could if I was out there slinging more feet pics or had a UHNWI/whale, since school is expensive. But I don’t and I’m not about that life.
I’ve had some really amazing teachers and professors that helped me excel not only in my courses but in life. Scientia potentia est.
I’ve taken courses here and there (online/hybrid and mostly free) from:
- MIT
- Harvard
- Duke University
- Ohio State University
- University of California San Francisco
- University of Pennsylvania
- Wesleyan University
They were mostly medical, health science, and bioethics courses.
I’m very much a cerebral person so it’s a good way to get back into mental shape without committing to a degree. Some of the classes required two to eight hours of homework weekly and I had the option to cancel at any time, however, I didn’t. I hate being a quitter. I persevered and complained, but loved every minute of it. I also got a certificate upon completion (for a fee, otherwise, it’s free to audit the course). It’s nice to have something tangible after I put forth the effort and finished the classes. I don’t have any plans on accumulating more degrees currently… but maybe in the future.
A few online free courses from Harvard that I’m considering for the future:
- Global Health Case Studies from a Biosocial Perspective
- Electrochemistry
- Shakespeare’s Othello: The Moor
- Science & Cooking: From Haute Cuisine to Soft Matter Science
- Handel’s Messiah and Baroque Oratario
- Masterpieces of World Literature
- Justice
- Innovating in Health Care
