The last movie I saw was Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
I’ll say this… it was so fucking good. It was better than I expected it to be. I was all up in my feels with this one.
I didn’t watch all of the Spider-Man movie like No Way Home but I did watch all the Avengers and Captain America: Civil War. Instead of watching No Way Home, I ended up catching up by watching the recap on YouTube.
<SPOILER ALERT>
It’s been years since No Way Home and Peter Parker’s been living completely alone after voluntarily erasing himself from his loved ones so they can go on with their lives without being in danger or missing out on what could have been.
Peter’s fighting crime full-time by himself and no one is the wiser. When they portrayed the loneliness that he was going through, I felt that. Every time I moved, I was in a new city where no one knew me and I for the most part, was a loner until people befriended me.
Anyway, Jean Gray (Sadie Sink—from Stranger Things) is introduced in this movie and she is a force to be reckoned with. Her mutant powers include telepathy and telekinesis; with the cosmic Phoenix Force, her powers become even more heightened with molecular manipulation, energy control and cosmic rebirth and destruction.
Enter Dr. Banner aka The Hulk discussing the inhibitor chip with Peter, who in his own right is a genius too. This was legit nerd talk and I was here for it. I thoroughly enjoy applied physics, biochemistry, pathophysiology, and organic chemistry. I got that from my dad.
I won’t say more about what happens next but I will say this. The mind may not remember, but the body will always remember… like Ned still knowing the handshake after all those years and having his memory erased… I felt that.
</SPOILER ALERT>
The next movie I want to see is The Odyssey but on IMAX 70 mm. I don’t know when I’ll see it since it’s sold out everywhere for weeks.
