LINK: the avatar challenge – beach edition

Tag 1-5 people (if you want) Most importantly, have fun!! This edition’s theme is… Beach!! Create a profile picture or avatar using the theme, beach. Whether that means using a beach background, under the water, or just you are wearing a swimsuit. The Categories You Can Choose from Are… AI Yes I still allow AI. However, I request you try other means first. If you can create without AI, please do so. Layered This includes Canva and like services. If your image was made by digital layering, it is in this category. Photography One of the two encouraged categories, this one is self-explanatory. Hand Drawn This includes paintings, sketches (both colored and B&W), digital art (outside of AI and layered services), and physical layered images This is the second of the encouraged categories. What is NOT Allowed services such as Pixbay and Unsplash are not allowed. At least AI images carry some of you in it. While images of Pixbay and others may resonate with you, it is 100% someone else’s work. The Factors Used for Picking a Winner Are… Quality The quality of the image. An Easy one for an AI image. Creativity How the different aspects of the image work together. Chances are totally reliant on the creator. Originality How unique your avatar is. Effort How much visible effort was put into your profile picture. Physical avatars have the best chance with this one. Reflection How much it shows your personality. Match how much it matches the theme. When Will the Challenge End? Submissions are accepted until Friday, July 31st, 2026. I hope you have fun guys!! It’s not much of an avatar really, it’s more of a collage of all the things I like to do at the beach.
The main picture was taken by Zaddy when we were at the beach during the autumn season. Since the weather in California is generally favorable all year round so, I’m able to enjoy going to the coast anytime that I want to.
My friends love lying in the sun and baking till they’re golden brown but not me. I like staying under the trees and shade because I burn easily, no matter how much SPF I apply, it’s not enough to prevent me from from frying.
- going to the beach in my pajamas and chilling in the cabanas ( I will literally roll out of bed and go to the beach at times)
- going to the beach in my swimsuit and chilling in the cabanas
- watching the trees sway back and forth
- breathing the salty air
- hopping on a boat and seeing the seals aka water doggies
- going to Oahu with friends to go to the beaches, especially Waikiki and Ko Olina
- eating fruits and other snacks at the beach
I’m not a fan of swimming in the ocean (except in the Maldives, because the water is so clear). The water along the coast of California is actually pretty disgusting with high levels of bacteria and since I’ve had several patients who were stung by stingrays or jelly fish or even bitten by sharks, I’d rather just not. These are things I didn’t have to worry about living in the land of 10,000 lakes.
One day though, I’d love to go deep sea fishing and catch me a ginormous bluefin or barracuda. How fun would that be? I used to fish often living in Minnesota but have only gone a handful of times since living in California.
I’m definitely not as creative as Info Man and the others who participated in this, but it was fun nevertheless.
