Currently listening to: should be you – can’t be blue (캔트비블루)

잊지 못한 맘 that should be you, babe
(a heart I can’t forget that should be you, babe)
너가 언젠가 전부 끝낸다면
(if you ever decide to end it all)
that should be me, that should be me
that should be you
Girl, we can fix it
아무도 몰라 내가 얼마나 널 사랑하는지 (that bitch)
(no one knows how much I love you (that bitch)
fucked my body, oh, not my mind
I can’t wait any longer, come back home now

My colleagues signed me up for another pharma dinner. I was mulling over whether or not I wanted to go but before I made a decision, they made it for me. This time it was at the Summit House. I’ve been there a few times before and it was good but I’m not much of a prime rib kinda gal (what they’re known for), which was another reason I was hesitant about going.

When we sat down, one of my coworker’s friends joined us. She was Korean and the way she looked at me like I was beneath her and how she treated my coworker gave me the ick. Definitely negative 1000 aura points for her. I tried to limit my interaction with her.

Summit House salad – the Boston lettuce was hydroponically grown, tossed with pancetta, grated Gruyere cheese, sourdough croutons, toasted pecans and black mustard seed vinaigrette.

The salad was amazing. I picked off the croutons and gave my friend the bread. It’s hard trying to limit gluten because I really wanted to inhale the bread but I had to control myself.

Prime rib of beef – served with au jus and creamed horseradish. I didn’t get the horseradish. Also on the plate was Yorkshire popover, creamed corn au gratin, and creamed spinach.

I ate the creamed corn and spinach and had the rest packed to go home. I thought i would give it to my mom instead.

They were offering drinks (gratis) but I didn’t want to drink my calories. Instead I got a decaf cup of coffee… with two refills.

For dessert, we got a trio. Profiterole smothered in Belgian chocolate, mini cheesecake, mini crème brûlée. You better believe that I indulged in the brûlée despite not being a dessert person but it’s not like I could take it home.

For those in Southern California, they have prime rib Wednesdays where you can get prime rib with creamed corn au gratin, creamed spinach, and natural au jus for $38.95. It’s honestly a good deal for people who are into prime rib.

But if you wanna get fancy, I’d go to House of Prime Rib in San Francisco or Lawry’s The Prime Rib in Beverly Hills.

Mmm. Creme brulee. Could do without the prime rib, though.

I wonder why that woman had it in for you. It’s always so unsettling when a complete stranger takes an instant dislike to me. On the other hand, since they’ve already paid for it, that frees me up to spend the rest of the encounter earning that dislike…

idk sometimes koreans be like that to their own pple. that is very unsettling. it’s like a weird competition but i don’t wanna compete.

That is horrible about that woman looking at you like you were beneath her. How rude. I am glad you did not engage with her much. You should only concern yourself with people who are good to you. By the way, that food looks amazing, especially the salad. Awesome!
