the pharma chronicles part xiii

My colleagues signed me up for another dinner. I think by the time I am done this year, I’ll be somewhat of a meat connoisseur. I’ve been going to these pharma dinners for years (even Michelin starred restaurants or restaurants featured on the Food Network) and in a way it’s spoiled me tremendously. It’s not only expanded my knowledge on different pharmaceuticals but also my palate.

Nothing dramatic happened tonight other than fighting people for a parking spot at Ruth’s Chris, the speaker’s presentation was short and sweet. It’s mostly me and my coworkers just yapping away afterward about what we’re going to be doing the rest of the week and how busy we are.

Steak house salad – baby lettuce, garlic, croutons, grape tomatoes

11 oz filet with grilled shrimp. I like mine cooked medium rare. The steak, that is.

Mashed potatoes with roasted garlic and creamed spinach

I opted out of the dessert, which was a flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and ganache. I was really tired and the decaf coffee wasn’t doing it for me. I knew that if I had more calories, I was going to just fall asleep right there in my chair.

Sad thing is that I barely ate any of the steak, so I boxed it up so I can eat it at home later in the week.

It’s good to expand your palette. Even if I am a pharma skeptic. Still. Gobble till ya wobble.
