LINK: party on, wayne
I got invited to a baby shower brunch in the morning but I wasn’t feeling it. Julie invited me over for a Bridgerton watch party and told me that I could come early to keep her cat entertained while she was out.

She wasn’t home when I got there but she left me her key and info on the snacks, how to work her TV remote, and how to use the AC remote.
When I got settled in and hit the couch, fatigue hit hard. My anemia has been running rampant and not being on caffeine makes me feel like a narcoleptic. I took a power nap for 20 minutes and it seemed to have done the trick.

As soon as I turned on the TV, her cat immediately appeared, peeking around the corner to investigate who dared to come inside his home.

After a quick assessment, he hopped right up and decided that my lap was going to be the place to be for the next hour. He’s doing pretty awesome for being a 17 year old cat.

Since Julie is a producer (she’s won several Emmys), she has access to all the films that’s nominated for the 2026 Oscars.
I decided to watch Hamnet, which has been in the queue for a while.
*SPOILER ALERT*
I loved this movie and I can see why people are buzzing about this film. It’s a story about Shakespeare’s wife, Agnes, who is holding down the fort in Stratford, raising three children, while Williams is off in London chasing his theater dreams. Two of the children are twins, Hamnet and Judith, who have an extremely magical and mystical bond.
While William is away in London, a plague spreads throughout Stratford and young Hamnet falls ill and dies. The movie beautifully traces how they each cope with the loss and how Hamnet’s death frays their connection. Eventually, William pours his unbearable pain into writing Hamlet, which is extremely lose to his son’s name.
FYI: I didn’t know that Joe Alwyn (Taylor Swift’s ex) was in the movie till I see him on the screen. I feel like he is very much like his character in the movie, he provided Taylor Swift unwavering support during her dark moments.
Next up was My Mom, Jayne, a heartfelt documentary directed by Mariska Hargitay (from Law & Order: SVU). It was her journey on understanding who her mother was, Jayne Mansfield and iconic 1950-60s Hollywood celebrity. She died in a motor vehicle accident in 1967, when she was 34 years old and Mariska was 3 years old at the time.
They touched on the family grief, conflicting memories, and secrets that the family’s held on to. In the documentary, she interviewed her siblings, who shared their memories to help fill in the gaps for their sister, Mariska.
I knew her mom was a famous person but I didn’t know her story and all the details behind it. It was very eye opening for me because that era was just so different than what I’ve lived.

A few hours later, Julie was back and Josh came over. I’ve been successfully on the coach for several hours and the only time I’ve gotten up was to either go to the bathroom or get more water. When the were at the house, I was feeling famished so we picked up a huge Margherita pizza with two arugula salads.
Then we went straight into watching Bridgerton season 4. We binged four episodes as we happily ate, watched, and drank a glass of wine.
My, my. This season of Bridgerton is getting good. I love the chemistry between Benedict and Sophie is ooh la la~. Honestly, it seems like everyone and their momma (literally, in the show) are hooking up and exploring the *pinnacle*.
I really wanted to watch the rest of the season but I was getting sleepy and by the time I got home it was already 0304. I cannot begin to tell you how much I loathe daylight savings.
Side note: happy birthday, SUGA/AGUST D/Yoongi (from BTS)
