It is a dark day for Minnesotans. As a former Minnesotan, this one hurts.

If you haven’t heard, an ICE agent shot and killed a 37-year-old woman who was a U.S. citizen. Her name was Renee Nicole Good.

This happened in Minneapolis, the city where I went to uni and where I lived for so many years. A place that helped shape who I am… and it’s a place I still think of as home. Knowing that something this devastating happened there fills me with grief.

According to reports, the shooting occurred during an enforcement action and the investigation is ongoing.

Someone’s life ended violently. A family is shattered. The city is left grappling with the murder of their own resident. Communities are being ripped apart and grieving.

This system is a failure, an abomination, yet it demands people to normalize what is going on in the country and it expects the public to accept death as collateral damage.

This should have never happened…

    It looks really bad for ice because people started protesting. Not good. He should have just moved out of the way of her suv coming towards him. Instead, he shot her. She had a child. This is so sad.

    Ughhh the video of the shooting came across my feed on Threads yesterday….horrific! Luckily no one else was killed as she lost control of her vehicle. Unreal, it’s just unreal that this is happening. I started watching The Handmaids Tale (don’t know if I’ll keep watching, not super into it) but honestly the world in which yesterday’s incident happened, parallels the dystopian world that show takes place in…it’s creepy af

    I have seen the footage from every available angle- this was murder plain and simple. The shooter left the scene immediately- but not before we got clear shots of his face. We already know who he is. We have charged ICE agents in the past- so we can only hope he will be held accountable. This whole ICE thing is so unreal. This is not America.

    I watched the video footage a frame at a time. She was presumably stuck i. Snow or ice and looked like she was motioning to go around her, honestly they had enough room to do so. 4 masked men approached and tried enter her vehicle as she backed up the killer raised his gun and shot her in the head, her car then accelatered into other parked cars. Total utter bullshit.
