Currently listening to: In The End – Linkin Park
I’m surprised it got so far
Things aren’t the way they were before
You wouldn’t even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then, but it all comes back to me in the end
When I go out to eat with my guy friends, I know that they will wanna go all out and feast like kings. It’s been a minute since I last had sushi and even though this restaurant was Korean owned and in Chinatown, it was solid (I do prefer authentic Japanese sushi joints).
We ordered the AYCE premium lunch special at almost $35. I know, we wouldn’t be able to find that sorta deal in California unless you wanted to get food poisoning. The fish tasted fresh and it had good ratings on Yelp and other reputable websites.

My least fav was the mirugai, which is the Pacific geoduck. I’ve never had it before and thought I’d give it a try. Nope. I didn’t like the texture whatsoever.
Afterward, we went to the Venetian, I was looking for a particular store but found out after circling around forever that the store closed down. I wish the website and Yelp would update their information so people won’t waste time looking for it.

By this time, I was getting kinda tired and wanted to go back to the hotel to rest and catch up with work.
I was about to take a shower but noticed that there was hair on the walls that weren’t mine (obvi). I called the concierge and they had housekeeping come and clean the bathroom for me.
I worked remotely for several hours for my secondary job. I was offered a promotion there if I came back by the senior VP. I told her that I really appreciated the offer but I had five years left at my primary job. At that time, if the offer still stands, I may reconsider. She told me that I am welcome back at any time.
I hesitate on the promotion because it is salary (this would require more time than my current primary job) and I would have nearly 80 people reporting to me. I don’t want that kind of responsibility right now and the commute sucks balls.
Anyway, I was working until 2230, up until our reservations at Herbs & Rye (off the strip). This steakhouse is open till 0300. I know, wild, right? But this is Vegas…

Complimentary bread and butter.
Calamari: banana peppers, Proscuitto, and cherry pepper aioli

SautΓ©ed asparagus
Filet mignon. Okay, so one thing about this place is during their happy hour, they have significant discounts on some of their foods. Regularly, their filet mignon is $64 for 9 oz but since we went during happy hour, it was $35. Their 16 oz ribeye goes for $78 but the happy hour price is $46. I don’t get it but I’m not complaining either.

Truffle mac & cheese
Sweet potato tots
I would have taken better snaps but the room was a bit dark as you can tell and I didn’t want to be THAT person who uses the flash…
The restaurant where we were seated felt like a speakeasy. The vibe was very cool and hip. They are widely known for their drinks but I was so full already that I didn’t want to drink more calories.

When we got back to the hotel, they watched me play on the penny slots. I was up $100 but lost it all.
I tried so hard and got so far
But in the end, it doesn’t even matter
I had to fall to lose it all
But in the end, it doesn’t even matter
I went back to the room and worked again till nearly 0300. Then I was reading people’s blogs and checking out the socials before falling asleep.
