I can remember when
I caught up with a past-time intimate friend
She said, “Bet you’re probably gonna say I look lovely
But you probably don’t think nothin’ of me”
She was right, though, I can’t lie
She’s just one of those corners in my mind
So I just put her right back with the rest
That’s the way it goes, I guess
Coworker: I have to get my cat spayed
Me: how old is your cat?
Coworker: she’s a year old
Me: how long are you going to wait?
Coworker: probably next year
Me: poor cat’s going to get a hysterectomy
Coworker: wait, what?
Me: that’s basically what being spayed is
Another coworker: OMG, why do you have to say it so dramatic like that?
Me: but where’s the lie?
Coworkers feverishly Googling to fact check me.
Coworker: damn… I never thought of it like that
Me: It is what it is…
