Where do you find inspiration to write?

Prompt created by yours truly.
Feel free to use any prompts that I post and/or tag me.
I’d love read your responses.

I find inspiration in just about everything. But art and music are what captivates me and blows my mind.

I used to love the Museum of Contemporary Art but I feel like there’s been a decline over the years. Nevertheless, I still go every now and then, especially since it is free.

My fav exhibits:

Destroyed piano – Henny-Penny Piano Destruction Concert
Pilot – Takako Yamaguchi

Blue Pants and Pocket Objects on Chair – Claes Oldenburg

Strange Fruit – Haegue Yang
Monument – Kelly Akashi

I felt underwhelmed at this go around, but maybe I’ll be inspired next time…

Like I said in an earlier comment: money laundering.

    Though I kinda liked Pilot.

The Pilot is brilliant Ro.!! Hey? I really like this!! I went to Embassy of Japan here once and they had paintings with a single ikebana flower placed infront. It was….cool! Picasso -near quote- >>>as a child I could paint like a master…..it took me all my life to learn how to paint like a child<<<<
This quote makes me understand his later ink work, yes?

You know where I find mine. I write to a variety of prompts. I do so because it is a challenge- and makes me find subject matter in things that at times do not even appeal to me. It’s the challenge for mw….

I wonder what’s story is behind the destroyed piano

    1. justrojie Avatar

Good question! I think it’s open for interpretation?

      1. Hazel Avatar

There’s so much in it to discover. It looks intriguing.

        1. justrojie Avatar

for me it could have different meanings like the piano once was alive and now is dead. also i can interpret it as having a piano was for the affluent back in the days and by destroying the piano, it rejects the aristrocratic lifestyle. oooor the piano is very pristine and beautiful and by destroying it could be interpreted that beauty can come in any form, even a broken piano.

          1. Hazel Avatar

I love your last interpretation, my friend. There’s beauty in destroyed things whenever we have appreciative mind. I think the same with people. Some people become injured, body deformed, yet we find them still beautiful and worth cherishing.

            I love that!

These are beautiful especially the last one. There’s no background story to the art?

    1. justrojie Avatar

hm not sure i haven’t looked into it but my interpretation of this piece would be that delicate things can be a monument. it doesn’t have to be dominant or grand but it can be something gentle and fragile almost, yet withstand the outside forces. but again, everything can be open to interpretation if you don’t know what the backstory is of the piece lol

      1. ibarynt Avatar

That’s a good interpretation. That’s the beauty of art, it’s open to individual interpretation and not necessarily wrong either.
