post birthday celebration #2

Currently listening to: Black Widow – Iggy Azalea feat. Rita Ora

You used to be, thirsty for me
But now you wanna be set free
This is the web, web that you weave
So, baby now rest in peace (it’s all over with now)

The five of them wanted to celebrate our birthdays in K-town. Since us birthday girls, Maggie and I, have anemia, Korean BBQ felt like the obvious move. We ended up at Quarters, a spot that’s not just delicious but also Michelin Guide–recognized.

Quarters is known for more than just the food, it’s got that lowk celebrity magnet energy.

Jin from BTS.

The Rose.

RM from BTS.

Lisa from BLACKPINK.

Hines Ward Jr., former NFL wide receiver for the Steelers, MVP.

Chloe Kim, Olympic gold medalist x 2 snowboarder.

Kim Kardashian. LOL.

We ordered the cold kimchi rice noods, which was refreshing and not spicy at all to my disappointment.

The beef brisket and premium beef bone in short rib were perfection. They grilled the meat at the table. Beef brisket is always my go-to. It’s not as heavy, compared to the short rib or bulgogi. By the end of it, I was stuffed. Stick a fork in me, I was done.

After lunch, we made our way to Hollywood to wander and check out a couple of spots. Everywhere, it was Squid games or K-Pop Demon Hunters. I wasn’t mad about it.

Jin AKA World Wide Handsome was beckoning me. I can’t wait to see him perform later this week.

We stopped by Japan House LA: WAZA shop. It is always beautifully curated there. I bought a small bag of black sesame latte powder.

How cool is this samurai armor?

Then we hit the LINE store to see if they had any new BT21 merch. Sadly, nothing new this time, but we did score free bottles of Pocari Sweat. I haven’t had this since I was a kid visiting my grandparents in the motherland.

At this point, they were getting hungry again. IDK how. So we made a pit stop at Tom N Toms Coffee. I ordered the mango bingsuccino and it was fucking amazing. Creamy, icy, tropical heaven in a cup. Look at all that mochi in there…

They ordered garlic butter bread and corn pretzel, but I was beyond done. The bigsuccino took me out. I had to get a cup of coffee for the ride back home because I was getting so drowsy from the food coma.

You and your friends find the coolest things to do! (Do people say “cool” anymore?) Amazing food and fun places to go and things to see. You all have so much energy! I’ve been hanging out in thrift shops and antique malls lately. Not quite so exciting, but I do enjoy browsing.
