Every time I think of you
I feel shot right through with a bolt of blue It’s no problem of mine, but it’s a problem I find Livin’ a life that I can’t leave behind There’s no sense in telling me The wisdom of the fool won’t set you free But that’s the way that it goes and it’s what nobody knows Well, every day my confusion growshe obligatory birthday dinner with the K-Girls lives on—even if my actual birthday passed a while ago. Life’s been busy for all of us, so it took some time to finally find a night that worked for everyone. But better late than never.
We kicked things off with a little detour to Daiso because… BT21. We wanted to see if any new merch had dropped, and we’re all weak when it comes to cute things. No regrets.
Dinner was at Nep, and instead of doing the usual and ordering our own entrees, we decided to just go in on a bunch of appetizers and share everything family-style. Honestly, that’s the move.
Vietnamese shrimp salad. It was refreshing, the mix of mango and shrimp just hit right.
The calamari was solid too, but the real MVP was the chili lime mayo dip that came with it.
We also tried something new: shrimp toast. The milk bread topped with shrimp paste, and sesame seeds with a side of hot honey mayo to dip it in. More gluten than I needed but I didn’t care. It was hella good.
The chicken wings were mid. It’s caramelized fish sauce, garlic and chili.
One of the girls packed up the leftovers and took it home since the rest of us were tapped out.
But we also have another stomach for dessert. We went to Mochi and ordered black sesame milk snow and a fruit shaved ice bowl. It was a perfect coo-down after a salty meal and gave us another excuse to sit and talk for an hour before going home.
I’m grateful for my friends and carving out time to spend with one another.
