What are the personality differences between child-you and adult-you?
Prompt snagged from: TCMC
Child-me was a classic people pleaser. I wanted so badly to be liked, to be included, that I’d put up with behavior that I absolutely shouldn’t have. I’d go out of my way for people—become so flexible that I turned into a Chinese acrobat or accommodate others before my own needs—just to keep the peace or avoid being left out. I thought being kind meant saying yes, even when it cost me something.
Adult-me (now) still cares about people, but I’ve learned to protect my energy and space. I’m more selective about who gets my time, attention, and care. I no longer mistake tolerance for strength.
