Don’t let me down easy, if you’re gonna leave me
Baby, go and leave me all the way
Don’t ask for all your things back, cussin’ out my name, yeah
Just to go and take back what you say
Burn all the bridges, don’t ask forgiveness
Walk away like I’m someone you hate
What is the difference between “living” and “feeling alive” to you?
Prompt snagged from: TCMC
There’s a huge difference.
Living is the routine that I do, day in and day out. It’s the autopilot mode I slip into without even realizing it-wake up, work, eat, sleep, shower, exercise, pay bills, doom scroll, then repeat. It’s functional, necessary, and it keeps the body moving. It is hardly motivating nor is it captivating for anyone.
Feeling alive, though? Heh. That’s something totally different. That’s what stimulates me and gets me excited. It’s when something starts a mini inferno within-joy, awe, connection, thrill. It’s when I’m present and it can be wildly electric. I am aware of my breath and the beauty surrounding me. It’s the laugh that comes from deep in the gut, the moment a song hits just right, a shared silence with someone who understands you, and it doesn’t feel like I’m just surviving.
Feeling alive is what gives the meaning to the act of living…
