Currently listening to: If It Isn’t Love – New Edition
Cause if it isn’t love
Why do I feel this way
Why does she stay on my mind
And if it isn’t love
Why does it hurt so bad
Make me feel so sad inside
If it isn’t love
View from the top of my dresser. Slightly disorganized, a little curated — basically a snapshot of my personality in objects and scents.
Top row, left to right:
- Versace Red Jeans – A nostalgic bottle from junior high, gifted by my brother. At the time, I thought it was the epitome of luxury.
- Dior J’adore – Bought this one during my retail era, where I took full advantage of that sweet 20% employee discount. It’s classic, timeless, and made me feel grown.
- BVLGARI Eau Perfumée – A gift from one of my girlfriends who just gets me. Light, fresh, and effortless — like morning sunlight in a bottle.
- Chanel Platinum ÉGOÏSTE – Yes, it’s technically a men’s cologne, but I bought it for myself because my first boyfriend used to wear it. Still smells undeniably sexy. One whiff and I’m back in that memory. Le sigh.
Middle row, left to right:
- Hermès Un Jardin Sur Le Nil – Found it at TJ Maxx, a total steal. It’s green, citrusy, and smells like summer evenings by the river. It’s also one of those scents that makes people pause and ask, “What are you wearing?”
- DIPTYQUE Eau Rose – Another thoughtful gift. It’s delicate and romantic — like a love letter written on vintage stationery.
- Vera Wang Eau de Parfum – Also from my retail job days. I wore it when I wanted to feel fancy.
- Tom Ford Santal Blush – Because sometimes I want to smell like a poem. It’s warm, sensual, and makes me feel powerful in a soft, whispered way.
In the big glass bowl: a treasure trove of sample-size perfumes collected over time. I used to have more but gave a lot of them away to friends.
The three jewelry containers: a home for random pins.
Scattered nail polishes: Because sometimes, I’m too lazy (or cheap) to go to the salon. These little bottles come in handy when I need a quick refresh.
