planes, trains, and automobile

Currently listening to: I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) – Taylor Swift

But what would you do if I went to touch you now? What would you do if they never found us out? What would you do if we never made a sound?

You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

If I’m going cross-country, I’m choosing an airplane—no question. Motion sickness and long, drawn-out travel don’t mix well with me, and I’d much rather fly in comfort than endure endless hours on the road.

I’ve done the cross-country car trip before, and let me tell you, never again. The moment we got a flat tire and ended up wasting precious time, I wanted to pluck my eyeballs out. Sure, road trips have their charm, but when you’re stuck on the side of the highway, questioning your life choices, that charm wears off real fast.

i agree with long road trips. if it’s a situation where you are forced to take it…if you’ve also got to keep an eye on kids, luggage, pets, etc….it is really not worth the frustration. i did a ny to pittsburgh to save money and for business and like you – “never again”. Mike

Oh boy that sounds like a debacle!

Heh. Isn\’t that the whole point? Getting flats is part and parcel methinks. Course, I\’m crazy so… lolol 🤣🤣🤣

    1. justrojie Avatar

A bike is too slow. A bus can crash. A plane can go astray. A train won’t leave its tracks. Even if it does, you can walk away.

    1. justrojie Avatar

there have been train crashes? but they seem to be far less. i’d love a train trip up the coast one day!

Yep, air travel all the way!
Well, apart from a beautiful yacht – I love the ocean 🛥️😁

    1. justrojie Avatar

oooh a yacht!! now we’re talking!

      1. Sara Allwright Avatar

Yep, now that’s what I call travelling! 🤗

Ya, a 1st class plane seat is pretty darn choice, I agree!😄

    1. justrojie Avatar

      it sure is!

  8. Maddie Cochere Avatar

I’m with you! Plus, my butt thanks me for not sitting for two or three days to get across the country.

I used to fly when people dressed up for air travel. And they smoked on planes. 🙂

    1. justrojie Avatar

lol now everyone looks like scrubs who rolled out of bed going to the airplane…myself included.

      1. Maddie Cochere Avatar

I know! I’m glad we can be comfortable now.

Dang! That will be very annoying if the tyres go off…

If the car isn’t airy and cool – I get motion sickness heavily!

    1. justrojie Avatar

Ugh even when it is cool I still get motion sickness 😂

      1. April Avatar

        Oh no! 🥺

I have traversed the country many times by car and airplane, but never by train. Currently I still want to do the whole of the Alaska Railroad system someday, but it maintains “tourist” pricing on an annual basis, so that will not be until they figure-out we need a resident’s rate!

    1. justrojie Avatar

That would be so fun to see. I’ve never been to Alaska but have watched many shows and documentaries which probably don’t do it any service.

    True!!

For all the charm that everyone raves about with car trips, there are real discomfort and disadvantages.

    1. justrojie Avatar

For sure!! Like traffic, blown out tires, getting gas or charged frequently. Ugh. All nuisances to me.

      1. ibarynt Avatar

They are, don’t say it out loud 🤣
