There’s been a lot of lowkey things happening:
- bought seven boxes of Girl Scout cookies and gave them away to my coworkers. I’ve become my mother, a food pusher. FML.
- when my cousin returned from Japan, she brought me back a box of Tokyo milk cheese factory crackers and I ate the entire box. It’s the honey and Gorgonzola cheese for me. I have no regrets. These are one of my favorites.
- my friend surprised me with four Labubu’s, and even though I could have hoarded them all, I gave one to another friend who has been desperately looking for months to get her hands on one.
- finally got my Global Entry. I’ve been coasting on Clear+ since I haven’t left the country in a minute, except Mexico. Guess this means I need to rack up some International travel to make it worth the hassle.
- discovered a local Yemeni coffee shop, and tell me why it’s so damn good? Like, how have I gone this long without knowing about it? Pro tip, get the Adeni Chai.
- got a chemical TCA 30% peel on my face and neck, and I was shedding like a snake at work. Thankfully, no one said anything since I had a mask on. I’m not supposed to touch it because it can get infected or cause hyperpigmentation.
- my friend got back from Mexico and brought me a bottle of mezcal with a larvae floating in it. Saving that for a special occasion or a particularly chaotic night full of shenanigans.
- been practicing my vocals. Nico sent me a guitar recording, so I sang over it and sent it back for feedback. Haven’t done that since my Smule days.
- what is even going on in the news? I haven’t watched a press conference since the pandemic days and my friends are sending me these memes. Sincerely, what the fuck is even happening? I can’t keep up with the news.
- a friend invited me to go with her son, who carries a diagnosis of ASD (autism spectrum disorder), to a Pokémon event in Pasadena. He talks incessantly about the game and different creatures and I’m one of the few who can understand what he’s saying. Seeing his excitement made my day.
- Afterward, I treated myself to the Hailey Bieber smoothie at Erewhon. Twenty bucks for a drink is ridiculous, but I was dehydrated and needed something to cool my core temperature. I don’t know why I’ve been conditioned to get one every time I’m back at my old stomping grounds. Not gonna lie though, it is tasty.
- Krystiana sent me a pair of sweatpants that look like jeans—the exact ones I was talking about last year. I told her she didn’t need to, but clearly, she doesn’t listen. I was planning on getting a cheaper dupe anyway, but she beat me to it.
- everyone and their momma’s getting sick right now, and I’m doing everything possible to dodge it before my holiday.
- tried the much-hyped Hawaiian honey cones with Hokkaido vanilla ice cream. It was good, but not life-changing—I wouldn’t go out of my way for it again.
