I had so much fun on Google+, and I’m still kinda salty they shut it down in 2019. That place was chaotic in the best way. My friends and I would hop on video chats, and somehow, random strangers from all over the world would just pop in like it was no big deal. It was basically Omegle but way more unhinged.
At any given time, there’d be like 20 of us in a chat, talking about literally everything—music, life, gaming, love, and anything else that popped into our mind—until the sun came up. We’d play songs, form makeshift online bands, and even have movie nights together. And the next day? Totally different lineup, totally different vibe. Every night felt like a new episode of a show that never got old.
There was something so wild and organic about it—just a bunch of people vibing with no algorithm pushing content at us, no influencers trying to sell us something. Just pure, unfiltered connections. Nothing has really replaced it, and I kinda doubt anything ever will. I miss that.
