And if you have a minute, why don’t we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So, why don’t we go somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we knowAfter our meditation and healing session, we all felt lighter—like a collective weight had been lifted. Naturally, the next move was to celebrate that newfound energy. We went to a lounge that seemed like the perfect spot for a drink and a quick bite before Five Star and I headed to our dinner reservation later in the evening.
I ordered a skinny margarita with Tajín on the rim, while the table shared chips and guacamole. But it wasn’t just the food or drinks that made the night interesting; it was the company. The table was full of Hollywood people—directors, editors, and songwriters, all deeply embedded in the world of film, television, and music. Between them, they had a caseload of Emmys sitting on their shelves, and access to celebrities most people only dream of meeting. And then there was me—the only one in healthcare, definitely not a Hollywood person.
At some point, someone turned to me and asked, “Are we boring you?” They were so used to their industry dominating the conversation every time we gathered that they assumed I might be tired of it.
Quite the contrary. I practically laughed.
“Do you know how refreshing this is for me? My world revolves around diseases, pharmaceuticals, and the latest outbreak of whatever is wreaking havoc. Trust me—I’d rather hear about your latest project than discuss another strain of flu. Please, continue…”
