My first computer was a Mac—back then, everyone seemed to have a Mac, iMac, or Mac Mini. We had computer classes in grade school and all I remembered was the teacher, Mr. Happy. Every day when we were about to exit the room to go to our next class, he would tell us, “Have a happy”. I thought that was really nice because no one else has ever told me to have a happy anything. When I got into gaming, my ex built me a custom PC. I remember how cool it looked with all the neon lights, almost like a mini rave in my room. Compared to that, my Mac Mini suddenly felt super boring.
I’ve also had multiple Lenovo laptops for work and home use. When I was in school, I’d take mine to the library to type up notes—until I could feel people’s eyes searing into my back. I type 100 wpm with two errors, and my 10-key speed is 15300 kph with 100% accuracy (accurate as of 1/31/25). As much as I love my speed, the last thing I wanted was to disrupt people trying to study or read.
At work, we use PCs and at home I still use a Mac, which I actually like because I feel like I’m versatile and well-versed in both PC and Macs.
