sunday scaries

Currently listening to: Good Old Days – Macklemore feat. Kesha

Never thought we’d get old, maybe we’re still youngMaybe we always look back and think it was better than it wasMaybe these are the momentsMaybe I’ve been missing what it’s aboutBeen scared of the future, thinking about the pastWhile missing out on nowWe’ve come so far, I guess I’m proudAnd I ain’t worried about the wrinkles around my smileI’ve got some scars, I’ve been aroundI’ve felt some pain, I’ve seen some things, but I’m here nowThose good old days

I dread Sundays because it’s a stark reminder that Monday is around the corner.  How is it already January 26th but the month feels like we’re on day 2983491823, especially when I’m at work?

My assistant and I were talking about how America is trying to do their version of Squid Game.  If they do it, what games do you think people would be forced to play?  These are a few that we thought of:

  • hopscotch
  • double dutch (OMG)
  • dominos
  • musical chairs
  • duck, duck, gray duck (yes, this is how we play it in Minnesota)
  • Marco Polo
  • rock, paper, scissors
  • Red Rover, Red Rover

Also, I cannot wait for the third season.

Where did you get that number? 😅. I’m sure a new game will be invented 😱.

Lolol I pushed as many numbers as I could. Oooh yeah they could even make up the games but that wouldn’t follow the original?

Kick the can! Did you ever play that?

Sunday scaries is a real thing! My ex was like that to a huge degree. A day for family, fun, and things to do, but he was a wreck the entire day, never having any fun, worrying about work on Monday. Shake it off, Rojie! Grab Sunday by the tail and make the most of your day off. Have fun!

What’s kick the can? 😆 Sundays are the Monday eve for me

Kick the can – A can is placed in the middle of the backyard. Take turns being the “seeker” – the one who has to find the people hiding. The seeker closes their eyes and counts to a specified number (20, 30, 50) to give the other players time to hide in the yard – behind bushes, trees, objects. By the way, we only played this in the evenings, because it was easier to hide when dark. Once the seeker has finished counting, they open their eyes and run around like a chicken with their head cut off trying to find one of the hidden players. As soon as they spot someone, they call out the location and both the seeker and the hider run for the can. If the seeker gets there first, the hider stays with the can “in jail” and the seeker looks for more people. If the hider gets to the can first, they kick it, and the round is over. They yell, “Olly, olly, oxen free” for everyone to come in. A new seeker is chosen, and it starts all over again. 🙂

That sounds like fun!!! Wish people would play that more often!

We were even playing it as teenagers with our aunt who lived next door. 🙂
