at home

Currently finished watching: Don’t Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever (Netflix)

NGL, preventive care is what’s going to help us live a robust longer life.

Write about a few of your favorite family traditions.

Drove by our old home and took a snap when I visited MN.  I loved this house growing up.

We didn’t really have family traditions—Korean traditions, yes, but nothing uniquely ours.

My parents were always busy working, and my brother and I often had to take care of ourselves. I wouldn’t call us latchkey kids since one of my parents was usually home, but most of the time, they were asleep because they worked opposite shifts.

Our routine was pretty straightforward: school, extracurriculars (sports, piano, or language clubs), church, and cleaning.

The only exception to this routine was when I got to sleep over at my cousin’s house or my best friend Ally’s from our Korean church

This is similar to my situation except I was latchkey. We were left to fend for ourselves pretty much. That is great at least you had a parent home when you got home, that is good 👍. I wish.

Yeah…we had to be very quiet otherwise we would get in trouble.

  2. Jesse Pallante Avatar

Oh that’s bad. Hopefully you people were quiet 🙊.

Shhhh was the word then, but I bet you learned a lot that way. It made you smarter. 😂 Lol

Yes that is not a way to be, but at least you had extra curriculum activities which was awesome too.

This life is so different from mine. Most of my school days, I went home with the presence of parents, but there are years I’m away with them, too.

    But, you grow amazingly, rojie

It’s sure interesting how people grew up and how it shapes a persons life

        Yes, I completely agree, rojie

We were left with older cousins, a maid if we could get one and as my brothers grew they looked after the younger ones. Then it came my turn to look after the younger. Large families 🤣

    1. justrojie Avatar

😂 I had to make sure my brother didn’t make much noise and wake up the rents

      1. ibarynt Avatar

Can you imagine the commotion in our house, so many tiny ones 🤣

        1. justrojie Avatar

          You’re never lonely though

          1. ibarynt Avatar

No chance for loneliness or privacy 🤣

          2. justrojie Avatar

lol who needs that when my mom harasses me all the time 🤣

          3. ibarynt Avatar

🤣. The kdramas are spot on with that. The mothers are so controlling, I keep thinking how you’ll live with that. I think Indian mothers are the same too.

          4. justrojie Avatar

I try to ignore her for as much as I can 😂

          5. ibarynt Avatar

😱🤣… you are so bad but that’s a good tactic 🤭

          6. justrojie Avatar

Being structured like that has it’s ups as well as down. And I wanna live til He decides to bring me home.

      Agreed!!

I love Korean churches. I make all the young women uncomfortable, because I take up 2 seats on an airliner :))

Of Minnesota (along with Montana and Wisconsin) I have the fondest memories from my Summer stays there, despite ending up there with an extremely busy working schedule.

    1. justrojie Avatar

How cool!!! Where about in Wisconsin?

      1. hubertprevy Avatar

Madison, mostly. Then Monroe and New Glarus.

        1. justrojie Avatar

Nice!! I was in eau Claire too

          1. hubertprevy Avatar

Yes, Eau Claire, made a stop there, albeit a rather short one.

          2. justrojie Avatar

😆 there’s not much to see there

Madison, mostly. Next come Monroe and New Glarus.

Is that Netflix one based on that guy who doesn’t want to age and all? Brian?

    1. justrojie Avatar

Exactly!! Yeah it was an interesting documentary for sure! It made me think more about my health and population care.

What a nice place to grow up. I’m envious of your driveway. Did you play out there often? Ours was gravel and a bit of a hill. Big driveways were the bomb when I was a kid.

    1. justrojie Avatar

I would lay outside in the sun on a blanket and read. My brother would play basketball too we had a basketball hoop there but it looks like they removed it
