We hug and yes, we make love
And always just say “Goodnight” (la-la-la-la-la) And we cuddle, sure, I do love it But I need your lips on mineI love spending afternoons enjoying tea with my friends, and our latest outing took us to a new spot called Tea Modern Chinese. This place adds a unique Asian twist to the traditional afternoon tea experience, which piqued our interest.
I opted for the Pacific Coast Mint tea to pair with my Philz Philtered Soul coffee I already had in hand. My friends chose Ti Kuan Yi and Sencha teas, each savoring their own unique flavors.
The tiered trays were as visually stunning as they were enticing. The top tier featured savory yumminess: quiche potstickers, egg salad sandos, curry chicken puffs, and cucumber toasts. My favorite was the curry chicken puff—the combination of textures made every bite interesting and satisfying. On the other hand, the quiche potstickers were my least favorite. It was so bland I found myself wishing I had my bottle of Tapatío on hand to spice it up.
The bottom tier, filled with sweets, included brown sugar scones, black sesame hazelnut choux, yuzu meringue tarts, raspberry lychee mousse, and matcha panna cotta. While beautifully crafted, I wasn’t too captivated—I’ve always been more of a savory person.
I’ve would love to experience a proper afternoon or high tea across the pond. Unfortunately, time doesn’t seem that time will permit when I go. But who knows? Maybe next time…
