Buddy H, Rez-D, and I decided that we had enough stress for the day and went out to check out a newer restaurant that opened recently. I’m so fortunate that my friends love sushi as much as I do. I hope I don’t have mercury issues because of it.
They didn’t have their waitlist running outside so we had to go inside to put our names on the list. We were told that it was going to be a 30-40 minute wait. Great. We went around to Daiso and Beard Papa to look at their BT21 and Sanrio merch. By the time we headed back, it was already time for us to be seated.
Anyway, we shared two orders of the Furikake fries. I love thinner fries that are seasoned well like these. And the spicy mayo was everything.
I also love me some crispy rice tartare. These weren’t the best, but they were still good. I think the best ones I’ve had thus far has been from Sushi Shunka. Damn, I love it there.
I also got an order of the Toro maki, I ate four and I gave the guys a sample to taste. I’m not much into hand rolls so I opted out of that. In general, I find inari to be a bit sweet so I also did not order that either. The donburi was a no go since it would be a bit too much, specially so late in the night.
I had two hot cups of hojicha. I feel like I’m super Asian when I go out to eat in comparison to my friends who order soda. Ugh. Thinking of all that sugar and chemicals make my stomach hurt. I haven’t had pop in over a decade.
More than anything though, I love spending time with my friends and low key having a good time.
