I don’t listen to music while I’m at work because I have to be on the lookout for any slight noises with my stethoscope, alarms on pumps, changes in a person’s voice/tone, overhead pages, and whatever the staff or patients are saying. If I’m interacting with young children, then I’m forced to listen to “skibbidi rizz toilet”.
On my way to work, if I’m tired, I’ll blast trance or rap to pump me up. If it’s rap, it’s usually Pac or westside connection, Eminem, or whatever it is to fuel my anger for not winning the lotto yet again. Trance wise, then it’s DJ encore, Tiesto, PVD, Melanie C, Sash!, or Armin Van Buuren or the latest banger that’s out, as long as it’s got a sick beat that will energize me.
On my way home from work, I’m more apt to listening to Taylor Swift, Charlie Puth, BTS, SKZ, Post, Blackpink, MGK, or Billie Eilish. If I’m studying, then it’s definitely lo-fi.
