There are plenty of fears I overcame, but these are the top three:
- being a disappointment. I stopped worrying about what people expected or wanted (especially my parents) and all I could do was my best.
- public speaking. I’ve been tasked to provide trainings and lectures to my peers; over time, it has been less nerve-wracking.
- being lonely or abandoned. I’ve grown to enjoy my quiet time a lot more than I ever thought I would. I can do all the things that I want to do. Some may call this hyper-independence due to childhood trauma…and they might be right.
