Picked up my 동생 (dongseng/younger brother), not by blood, and we went to an AYCE sushi joint. He literally lives half a mile from me, which makes it convenient.
I ate so much sushi that I probably won’t want it again anytime soon. The quality was mid but they had a huge selection that included carpaccio, specialty rolls, nigiri, sashimi, izakaya, and handrolls. My favorite was the rose roll, the spicy tuna had a good kick to it.
We had a bunch of topics to discuss during lunch ranging from 찜질방 (jjeem jil bang/Korean bathhouse) to Korean skincare. Honestly, skincare is one of my favorite subjects in general. It’s been a minute since I’ve been to a찜질방, I’m long overdue. The thought of indulging in a thorough scrub down followed by a blissful nap in the various rooms sounds absolutely heavenly.
We definitely binged with all the sushi, we made it to round two. When we left, I dropped him off at his place and he handed me a bag of his mom’s homemade dumplings, which I am pretty excited to try.
When I got home, I started watching “Quiet on the Set”, which he recommended that I watch. This docuseries is absolutely fucked up. It’s awful what these kids and adults had to go through. I can’t even imagine.
While I was watching the first episode, I fell asleep. The rice from the rolls took me out. A few hours later, I woke up and resumed watching it. I cleaned my office area to prep for tomorrow’s study sesh. I really have to get a handle on this certification exam.
