Years ago, I asked this guy I was conversing with if it was possible to love more than one person.
His response was:
His response was:
“If you are asking if there is only one person that will come into your life that you can truly love, I would say no.
As we change, so does the love that we are looking to have.
If you are asking if there is only one way to love, the answer is yes.
If you are asking if there is only one way to love, the answer is yes.
When you truly love, you love wholly.”
I think about love a lot. Probably more than the average person. There are so many different kinds of love but the one I question and obsess about the most is eros. I’ve got ludus, mania, and philautia types of love on lock. I think at an early age, I was subjected to so much K-dramas that it skewed the way that I saw love in a relationship. I was expecting too much like over-the-top gestures and unrealistic expectations of how a man should treat a woman. It fucked with my head.
But then the other day I binged on Beckham on Netflix and when I heard about David Beckham driving six hours to see Victoria for 20 minutes, I was in absolute awe. This…this…was some K-drama shenanigans. Who knew that the Brits could be so romantic? Le sigh.
